UWSP Men’s Hockey make their long awaited return to competition

The UWSP Men’s Hockey Team make their return to competition for the first time since March 7th 2020, on Wednesday February 3rd, 2021 against UW-Eau Claire at K.B. Willett Arena Stevens Point, WI.

The COVID-19 Pandemic shut down the original start date to the 2020-21 season that would have been in October, but on January 19th the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Council of Chancellors voted and announced winter sports competition would return the week of Feb. 1st, with all schedules featuring competition against conference only opponents. While spectators will not be allowed at WIAC events during the winter sports season, UWSP Athletics recently announced their “Virtual Tickets for the Great Pointer Return” program.

This season, ALL UWSP Men’s Hockey Home Games will be broadcasted live on the UWSP Athletics YouTube Channel where the Pointers Hockey broadcast team of Tom Weaver and Shaun McMahon also return.
