Pointers open WIAC Conference Play with a Tie and a Loss

The UWSP Men’s Hockey Team was back on the road this weekend to open up WIAC Conference Play against UW-River Falls Friday Night and UW-Superior Saturday Night.

Friday Night saw the Pointers battle it out with UW-River Falls all game long. With exactly 1:00 to play in the 3rd Period, Austin Kelly got his first goal of the game.
On the next faceoff, the Pointers rushed back into the zone and Austin Kelly scored his second goal of the game just 15 second after his first to tie the game at 5-5. The Pointers and Falcons ultimately skated to a 5-5 tie.

Saturday The #3 Pointers traveled up I35 to Superior to take on the Yellowjacket’s of UW-Superior in game 4 of a 4 game road trip swing. The Yellowjackets came out swinging and controlled the game throughout the night and defeated the Pointers 4-2.

The Pointers are back in action at home to face Marian on Friday November 29th and Concordia (Wis.) on Saturday November 30th with 7pm Faceoff both nights. Saturday is the Suicide Awareness Jersey Auction night and fans can bid on jerseys now on the DASH app.
